On July 1, 2001, the parishes of St. Hyacinth, Antigo and St. Mary, Antigo, merged to form the parish of SS. Mary & Hyacinth.

St. Hyacinth Parish was established in 1895 to serve the needs of the Polish community of the Antigo area. The current church and rectory were built in 1935, and the school building in 1961. The school building currently houses the Kindergarten and Pre-K classes of All Saints Catholic School.

St. Mary (The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) Parish was established in 1900 to serve the Bohemian population of Antigo. The church was built in 1901 and served the congregation for 100 years. A rectory, school, and parish convent were also part of the parish complex.

As years passed, English became the universal language and concentration of ethnic groups faded. The physical buildings of St. Hyacinth and St. Mary were only 3 city blocks apart. Planning studies were recommended by the Green Bay Diocese and done. After two years of planning, the parishes merged in 2001. Parish members chose the new name: SS. Mary & Hyacinth. Eventually the buildings of the St. Mary site were sold and all parish facilities are now located at the St. Hyacinth site at 819 Third Ave., Antigo, Wisconsin.
